"Stand by Me" the Academy Award winning Feature Film was filmed in Brownsville Oregon
and the 25th Anniversary event was this Summer.
A walking tour around Brownsville where the locations was filmed. The event coordinator,
Linda McCormick and others put on a great event
and the blueberry pie eating contest was funny and a huge mess on the faces of the contestants.
The original Stand by Me movie was featured
by viewing it on a big screen in the
Linn County Pioneer Park.
Highlights of the day was the famous Oak tree where the tree house set was built. Fred and Edi Smith own the tree and their son, Scott Smith sold lots of cold ice water, branches and limbs from the tree to those who took the same walk as those in the film.
